Updating your listing content and media
Here's how you can update content and media fro your experience.
A few words you'll see
- Experience ID — the Headout reference for your experience. You'll find it on Hub, below the experience name.
- Option — the variant of the experience, for example English Guided Tour or Cruise with Breakfast.
- Highlights — the short lines near the top of your listing that sell the experience.
- Know Before You Go — practical things guests need to be aware of before arriving.
Before you start
- Have the Experience ID ready — it's required either way.
- Know which option is affected, if it's not all of them.
- For content, write out the exact new wording before you open the form. There's no field for it, so it goes in the Description.
- Have the link to the live listing page you want changed — that goes in the Description too.
- For media, upload your files to Google Drive or Dropbox and check the link allows download access. A link is required, so get it ready first.
Step 1 — Open the request form
- Click Help in the left-hand menu of Hub. This signs you into the Help Centre.
- Click Submit a request.
- Choose Manage or edit your experience.
Step 2 — Choose content or media
Under “Select the specific issue you need help with”, pick Content changes or Media changes. They're separate requests — if you're changing both the wording and the photos, raise one of each.
Step 3a — Changing your content
Choose Content changes. You'll be asked for:
- Please enter Headout Experience ID — required.
- Please enter the option/variant name — leave it blank if the change applies to every option.
- Where do you want to make the changes? — required. Choose any that apply: Highlights, Know Before You Go, Inclusions, Exclusions, Your experience, My tickets.
The wording itself goes in the Description. Give the old wording and the new wording side by side, rather than describing the change. “Change ‘tour lasts 2 hours’ to ‘tour lasts 90 minutes’” can be actioned immediately; “the duration is wrong” comes back to you with a question. Paste the link to the listing page you're looking at as well, so our team is certain which text you mean.
For several changes at once, put them all in a Word document or PDF and attach it at the bottom of the form, or share a link to it in the Description.
Step 3b — Changing your photos or videos
Choose Media changes. You'll be asked for:
- Please enter Headout Experience ID — required.
- Please provide the media link for the images/videos that need to be updated — required. Use a Google Drive or Dropbox link with download access.
- Please enter the option/variant name — leave it blank if the photos apply to every option.
The media link is required even if you also attach the files, and it has to be a full web address starting with http:// or https:// — the form won't accept anything else.
Say in the Description whether the new photos replace existing ones or are being added, and name any you want removed.
Important: Photos need to be at least 1200×800 pixels and between 350 KB and 5 MB. Videos need to be at least 720p. Anything below that can't be published, so check before sending.
Step 4 — Add a subject and description, then submit
Give the request a clear Subject naming the experience, use Description for the new wording, the listing link and anything else our team should know, and attach files at the bottom if you have them. Click Submit.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I edit my own listing content?
Listing copy on Headout is reviewed before it goes live so it stays accurate and consistent for guests. Send the change and our team applies it.
Where do I find the Experience ID?
On Hub, below the experience name on the Experiences page.
How long does it take?
Our team actions it and confirms. If it's time-sensitive — a price-affecting inclusion, or something guests are complaining about — say so in the Subject.
My photos were rejected.
Almost always resolution or file size. Photos need at least 1200×800 pixels and 350 KB, up to 5 MB. Avoid heavy filters, watermarks and overlaid text.
Nobody could open my Drive link.
The link needs download access, not just view access. Set sharing so anyone with the link can download.
Can I change content across several experiences at once?
Yes, if the change is the same. List every Experience ID in the Description and be explicit that it applies to all of them.
What's the difference between “Your experience” and “Highlights”?
Highlights are the short selling lines near the top. Your experience is the fuller description below. If you're unsure which holds the text you mean, paste the listing link in the Description and quote the wording.
Can I update the meeting point here?
Not under Content changes — the same form has Change meeting point or pickup location, which asks for the new address and the date it takes effect. On some accounts you can change it yourself. See Updating your redemption method and meeting points.
