Automated connectivity options
Connecting your ticketing system to Headout automatically means bookings, prices and availability move between us without anyone typing them in. Fewer errors, faster confirmations, and no manual work at month end. There are two ways to do it, and our team will help you pick the one that fits your setup.
A few words you'll see
- API connection — a direct link between your ticketing system and ours.
- Channel manager — a third-party platform that sits between your system and ours.
- Fulfilment — how a booking made on Headout gets confirmed and ticketed.
Option 1 — Direct API connection
If you have APIs for your ticketing system, we integrate with them directly and handle bookings with no manual step. We've built APIs covering each part of a product so it can be managed in detail.
What you get:
- Real-time inventory management.
- Price changes at schedule level.
- Booking details as they happen.
- Straightforward cancellations.
- Product changes reflected on Headout in real time.
- No errors in booking confirmations.
Our automation team works with you to build the connection, tests the whole flow with you, and stays available if anything goes wrong later. We're connected this way with attractions including Burj Khalifa, Moulin Rouge, Oceanogràfic and FC Barcelona.
Option 2 — Through a channel manager
We've integrated the major channel managers in the industry. The channel manager sits between your system and ours, giving you control over your product through a portal you already know.
You get the same benefits as a direct API connection — real-time inventory, schedule-level pricing, immediate booking details, easy cancellations, live product updates and error-free confirmations.
Get in touch with your channel manager to set up an account. Our automation team then works with them and with you to get the integration right, and runs regular audits to catch problems before they affect guests.
How this shows up when you list
When you add an option to an experience, the Booking step asks how you want new bookings confirmed. Choose Reservation system/API connection for a direct or channel-manager connection, and you'll enter which system you use and your product code.
Important: Once an option is API-connected, prices and availability come from your system, not Hub. You won't edit them in Availability & pricing — make those changes in your platform and they sync across.
Frequently asked questions
Which option is best for me?
A direct API connection if you have APIs and the technical capacity. A channel manager if you already use one, or want the integration handled through a platform.
How long does setting up a connection take?
It varies with your system and the option you choose. Our automation team scopes it with you and builds in testing before going live.
Will an API connection change my prices?
It changes where you set them. Your platform becomes the source, so prices and availability flow from there to Headout instead of being entered on Hub.
Can some experiences be API-connected and others not?
Yes. Fulfilment is set per option, so you can mix. Just be clear which is which, because the ones on Hub still need their pricing and inventory maintained there.
Does everything sync on every platform?
Not always. Some platforms support inventory sync but not pricing, or vice versa. Our automation team will confirm what applies to yours during setup.
